Growing Beyond the Classroom

Language Opens Doors. Service Opens Hearts.

Language gives our students a voice. Service teaches them how to use it. At Westlake Chinese Academy, our volunteer programs are designed to develop the whole student — not just the linguist, but the leader, the helper, and the neighbor. From visiting local seniors to mentoring younger campers, our students learn that being truly educated means being genuinely present for others.

Bridging Generations Initiative

Bridging Generations Initiative

Great communities take care of each other across every generation. The Bridging Generations Initiative partners students from Westlake Chinese Academy and schools across Austin, TX with residents at Lakeway Copperleaf Homestead Assisted Living — bringing young energy, music, and storytelling into the lives of local seniors, and bringing wisdom, warmth, and perspective back to our students.

Volunteer as Summer Camp Counselor

Summer Camp Counselor

Being a camp counselor is more than a volunteer role — it's a leadership experience. Westlake Summer Camp counselors work alongside our instructors, guiding younger campers through cooking, arts, swimming, and language activities, while serving as mentors and role models both inside and outside the classroom.
